Hi guys. I downloaded the zip file (Hirens.BootCD.15.2.) I unzipped the file using winRAR. I burned the ISo image file onto a CD & flash drive. Then I switched off my PC (windows 7 Professional 64 bit), put my flash drive on, switched on the PC. After boot set up, I selected flash drive option & then the PC started reading the flash & selected Offline NT/2000/XP/Vista/7 Password Changer option. Then there comes a prompt screen with this 'boot: _'. Next I pressed enter. Normaly a screen telling me I need to select the partition where Windows is located should appear but in my case this didn't happen; a screen with numbers & information appears instead, it just stuck there, I pressed enter several times but doesn't accept the command. The same thing happens when I used the CD. Could you please explain why this is happened? Do you guys know any other similar bootable rescue disc solutions?

Thanks for this! I had downloaded hirens on a mac and was not sure if unetbootin would work. Fortunately, I still have a ten year old Windows laptop which I used to edit the .cfg files. I wish I had thought about it before as I would have just downloaded hirens to that pc. One more caveat was that I had to change the sata setting in the bios to ide. That way hirens recognized my drive and I was finally able to get back on my win8 device. Many thanks to raymond.cc!
To install GParted Live on CD, download the.iso file and burn it as an image to a CD.For other installations, please refer to the following documents:GParted Live on USBGParted Live on PXE serverGParted Live on Hard DiskAdd packages in GParted LiveCreate your own custom GParted Livefrom scratch
To view all of the included packages you can either: refer to the "packages-x.y.z-w.txt" file in the download directory,or view the file "live/packages.txt" file inside the GParted Live iso file or zip file.
get hiren's Iso into your HDD. insert your USB pendrive or whatever, download rufus and proceed with burning the hiren.ISO file into the USB.once you succeeded, you need to restart your pc and check that your BIOS is configured in such a way that your boot order has your harddrive as the last thing to boot from. Also make sure, that as you reboot your pc again, and you have your USB burned and plugged, you dont have anything else that your pc might boot from.Hope it helps (btw, i just did this 30 minutes ago...) Cheers!
Notice: If you select the option to download updates from the IBM site on BoMC and the download fails, please check the current status of the IBM website at the following link. -947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/current_status
Get started by visiting the HBCD download page. Scroll down to the yellow-shaded box near the bottom of the page and click the link next to Filename. You'll start downloading a large ZIP file (about 600MB). When it's done, extract the contents.
First, download a copy of Rufus, a simple and free tool for creating bootable USB drives. Insert your USB device and run the app -- it's portable so you don't have to install anything. Select its name from the Device drop-down box. Make sure to choose the correct one so you don't accidentally delete another.
Thank you for that, Alex! With a view to assisting a friend, I've downloaded the Zip file and opened same.I now have an ISO Disk Image file which I'm fairly sure I can burn to a CD.If I do this, and my friend places same in his computer with a view to booting from the disk, will it simply 'work' and give him access to the tools?I have a vague notion that another step is required! Advice on this matter will be much appreciated.
If a boot disk .iso is not 'properly' burned, you will end up with an .iso file-containing data disk instead of a bootable CDSo, the necessary ingredients are a proper .iso, which in the case of Hiren's would optimally be obtained from one of the reliable Hiren's sources. There are many sources of Hiren's some of which are 'evil', since Hiren's has a rep for containing a 'mixture' of freeware and copyrighted ware, it has been considered 'fair game' for nefarious sorts, just like other pirated ware.Hiren's today is mostly freeware, much less copyright ware than earlier versions.I don't know which Hiren's sources are just healthy 'alternates' and which Hiren's sources are evil -- but I do know that I consider a reliable way to download Hiren's and I consider Hiren's info source a reliable source of info about Hiren's might compare the md5 for the files you have against thos at the .org siteFilename: Hirens.BootCD.14.0.zipFilesize: 495.14 MB (519189647 bytes)ISO MD5: 69F36D88FD971CF6A7EDA9286D5E19F0ZIP MD5: 38CF0B054E5846489D2B8AC60B6783CF... but the .info site doesn't have any info about where to dl from. The .info site just has other freeware tools not Hiren's.
Ah! That might be where I went wrong. There were a number of files contained within the .zip file downloaded. I just selected the single 'iso file and burned that. I'll try again and see if I can burn the whole folder. Thanks, Mike.D.

Hi Guys!I started over using my XP desktop from scratch - including the download .Long story short - I've now got a bootable Hirens CD - tested on Mrs BD's laptop too!I appreciate your help everyone. Many thanks. :-)Dave
I just downloaded a fresh copy and booted it just fine via Easy2Boot, I too like Steve suspect it's your laptop. Try the same stick on another PC to be sure. I've booted Hiram's on a load of computers of all sort.
Before you try this method, remember to prepare you ISO files first. You could download it from the Internet and store it on the host machine. If you want to let more users to use the ISO file, move it to the shared storage. If you have a DVD or CD containing the needed image file, make sure your computer has DVD player and the image file is readable.
You can use a non-portable version as well. In this example we will be using Rufus version 3.17. Get it from the ToolBox or download it from one of the links provided here. If the links are broken, use a search engine to find it. 2ff7e9595c
